How To Recreate this Sunset Poster

Hi everyone!

Super excited to teach this tutorial today. This is pretty simple design so I hope everyone has an easy time following along. The first step here is to create an 18-24 inch document in Photoshop which is the default poster size. Then we start with the tree graphic. I got a set of palm tree illustrations off of Envato Element. Once you find something you like, the next step is to resize it using the scale tool in Photoshop.

Then go to layer adjustment and use a threshold layer to strip the color. Then use the circular marquee tool to create a circle behind the palm tree. This will act as a sun. Create a new layer (under the palm tree) and use the color fill tool to fill the circle with red.

Then we create some text. We used a red serif font for the statement and a smaller black font for the detail statement.

On a new layer hit ctrl-a to select all then go into select > modify > contract and contract the selection by about 400 pixels. Then invert the selection and fill it with red. Then we add the perimeter text, for me photoshop was being glitchy so I manually wrote each line and then rotated and adjusted it to fit in the border.

Then I add some texture by overlaying a scanner photo and setting the blend mode to screen. Then I used a curves tool to fine tune the adjustment. And congratulations! You are finished!
